SHIPPING STRIKE
EXTENDS TO VICTORIA NUMBERS OF VESSELS ALREADY HUNG UP. By Telesrraph—Press Association—Copyright (Receivod May 20, 12.10 a.m.> MELBOURNE, May 19. The shipping strike has extended to Victoria. As inter-State steamers arrive members of the Victorian Seamen's Union are giving 24 hours' notice to leave their vessels. Numbers of coastal vessels aro already hung up. As the strike now embraces two Queensland and Victoria —it comes within the ambit of the Federal Arbitration Court, which may possibly intervene. It is feared the trouble will extend to other States.
