The Mana is to leave Wellington to- ; day for "Lyttelton, from which port she Is due hero again on Thursday, and vill i sail on Friday for Lyttelton. The Navua sailed from Auckland on Friday for Makatea Island, to load a shipment of superphosphates, and is cue hack at Auckland in about three weeks. Wright, Stephenson and Co. advise that the .Waimea, due at Wellington this moraine from. Tarakohe, is to sail tonight for Grevmouth direct. Mr A. J. D. McArthur, who has been awaiting orders at Wellington, is to join the Mokoia as third officer at this port. The steamer Barents'';, which is now discharging sugar at Chelsea, Auckland, is expected to finish to-day. She loads general cargo at Auckland, and sails ( n Friday for Melbourne. This steamer has accommodation for satoon passengers. Mr B. G. F. Zohrai) advises that the Karu is due back at Wellington to-mor-row morning from Lyttelton with cargo to put out here: She will load on Thursday for New Plymouth, and will sail in the evening for that port. The small steamer Paeroa is to go down to Shelly Bav to-dav to load explosives ex the auxilitary schooner Huia, and is to sail this afternoon for Nelson, Westport, and Greymouth. The Huia is io leave Wellington to-morrow for Lyttelton and Dunedin with remainder of explosives from Wellington. The Dutch vessel Koggemeen was to sail from -Sydney for Auckland on Saturday, and is due at Auckland to-morrow. On arrival she tranships a small quantity of cargo to the Barentsz.. and then goes to Chelsea to discharge close on 3000 tons of sugar. Later she loads at -Auckland and sails for Sydney with passengers on next Tuesday. The steamer Stella, Mr E. G. F. Zohrab advises, is to load to-morrow at Wellington for Auckland, and will leave tomorrow evening for that port. The Stella arrived at Wellington yesterday morning from Dunedin, and is discharging general careo.
The Baden Powell, bound from New Plymouth to Wellington, encountered the southerly blow, and was compelled to put in to Picton on Sntiday for V>n'*Vers. She sailed again yesterday, ut proably remained in Tory Channel owing to • the severity of . tie weather. The vessel is expected at Wellington to-day, and is to sail to-morrow for. Lyttelton. ... Levin and Co- have Teceived advice from the Northern .Company that they intend to resume their Onehvinga-Wanga-nui-Opunake service within a fortnight from the 17th inst., when goods will re received and signed for by an officer of the Opunake Harbour Board. The Federal and Shire liner Westmoreland will not leave Bluff before tonight for Wellington, where she is due on Thursdav morning to complete her cargo for Liverpool. The Port Sydney is now timed to sail from Wellington at daybreak on Friday for London via Panama. The Kaiapoi is to leave Wellington tomorrow for New Plymouth and Greymouth, taking general cargo for those ports; The vessel will load mou|h.for Melbourne ' <u , t . ri THE MIDDLEHAM CASTLE. i The weather was interfering with the loading of the Middleham Castle at Napior yesterday, but it is hoped that the vessel will leave there at the end of this week for. Line advises that the steamer Port Napier left London on the 14th inst. cargo-laden for Fremantle, Melbourne and Sydney. The vessel will not come to New Zealand to unload. THE BLACKBALL BOATS. The Blackball Company advises that the Ngatoro is due back at Wellington on Thursday morning from Greymouth with bunker coal fof the Westmoreland. The Ngaihere is-expected at Wellington about next Saturday or Monday from Timaru and Lyttelton with —a loafl of produce. The Ngakuta, now discharging tim'ber at Lyttelton from Kaipara, is to proceed next to Greymouth to load coal for Wellington. KAIKOURA SAILS TO-MORROW. There has been a further postponement in the projected departure of the New Zealand Shipping Company's linor Kaikoura. The vessel is now timed to laavo Wellington at 7 a.m. .to-morrow for London via Panama. TO-DAY'S BERTHAGE. • Mararoa. Ferry berth; Mokoia, No. 1, south. The American four-masted schooner Samar. whioh sailed ftom San Francisco on March 7th for Wellington, arrived in the stream at this port on Sunday night, but was unidentified until yesterday morning. The vessel, for which the *' Vacuum Oil Company are agents, has brought 22,000 cases of oil and a deck cargo of 330,000 ft of timber. Captain S. ABnussen is master of the schooner. The Port Health Officer will inspect the Samar at 9 o'clock this morning. LYTTELTON CONGESTED. The congestion 'of produce at Lyttelton awaitinjar shipment to the North Island -is particularly heavy • eays the Christchurch "Sun" of Saturday. On Friday Mr C. H. Hewlett, representing tho Merchants' Association, waited on the Union Steam Ship Company to see if a large vessel could not be obtained to relieve the position. So far tho company has made no announcement, bu-t -it ia likely that a vessel will be diverted next woek. - It is possible that the Koromiko. whioh is due next week with -:a cargo of coal from Newcastle, will be utilised for -the purpose of taking produco to Auckland. I ARAWA DUE SATURDAY. The Shaw. Savill and Albion Company advises that the liner Arawa is due back at Wollington next Saturday from Auckland with part cargo to put out hero from London.
