CHRISTCHURCH, May 18. Asked if lie had scoured any results from 'his appeal to Australia for coalminers, the Hon. IV. D. S. MacDonald practically admitted that iho had not. So far os could he gathered, the Australians were ‘ reluctant about coming over here.

Mr MacDonald stated that the Coal Commission’s report would bo printed in booh form. Ho could not indicate tho Commission’s findings, as the report had not been yet submitted to Cabinet.
