A question of some importance in international relations was discussed at the' Dutch Reformed Church Synod, several speakers emphasising the remarkable growth of Mohammedanism in native Central Africa, which was attributed to its greater simplicity and the sensuous appeal of Islam. This was regarded as a peril to the whites. It is estimated that there are sixty million Mohammedans in Africa, as agadnst inine million Christians and ninety million Pagans.
