NEW ROAD TO HATAITAI

A SCHEME OUTLINED,

A possible new road to Hataitai was mentioned by the Mayor of the city yesterday. Ho said that Adelaida road was already severely taxed, and soon would bo unable to earry all the traffic which passed through Wellington South. There had teen an ides for running n toad across the hill to Hataitai by extending the road which now goes past Government House, but the Government had prevented the council from going on with this idea, so now it ,was suggested that some dwellings just to the westward of that road' should be cleared away and a rond run through close by the Government House property.
