MacDonald) arrived from Grevmouth to be present at the gathering, which is being attended by representatives f rom all parts of the district.. The Minister will be entertained at luncheon at noon, and turns on the water to the new goldfield opened by the Westland Prospecting Syndicate,. near Lake Kanieri, to-morrow. Afterward:, ho takes public deputations, • and on Frida'y visits Rosa. On Saturday hs proceeds to Christchurch, passing through thh Otira tunnel .to Arthur’s Pass
