Tho following is the result of the race for the Goodwood Handicap, six furlongs, run at tho S.A.J.C. autumn moeting :—Trillion, 7.10, 1; Petracia, 8.9, 2; Silvor Heart, 7.2, 3. MELBOURNE, May 11. The race for tho Williamstown Peace Cup, 1000 sovs, one mile and a-half, resulted:—Nightwatch 1,-Court. Jester 2, Luteplayer 3. BRISBANE, May 11. Tho following is the result of tlie race for the Thousand Guineas: —Koseway 1, Britannia 2, Glaciale 3. _ Roseway (Whalley) was favourite. Won by six lengths.
BOWLING Following is a copy of a circular sent by the trustees of the late Northern Bowling Association to clubs, who were affiliated to the association :—.
When the above ceased active operations there was a balance in hand of .£IOO <after the first year's levy of clubs affiliated to tho association had been paid to the Dominion of New Zealand Bowling Association)'. This was placed on deposit.' The trustees of' the Northern Bowling Association recently deoided that the balance be donated, and it was unanimously agreed that same be allocated as follows: '— Y.M.C.A., £6O; St. Johns Ambulance, JJ6O. The balance amounting to Si 12s -»a9 voted tho . hon.. secretary to cover expenses incurred since active operations had ceased. The trustees also decided to present tho roller top desk to the hon. secretary (Mr J. ,T. Roberts) as a small token of respect for the - work he did on behalf of bowlers generally during his term of office as hon. secretary arid treasurer. The books and records of the late association have been placed in the.j keeping of Mr Roberts, and the banner and shield have been placed in the custody of the Bowling Club.
