ROUMANIAN ARMY'S PROGRESS
WITHIN 60 MILES OF BUDAPEST. (Received May 11, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, May 5. The "Daily Chronicle's" Copenhagen correspondent bta'oes that Belakuns army is deserting in-divisions: and join-, mg the Roumanians, who are within 50 Kilometres of Budapest. Belakun nas issued a proclamation calling to the colours those with military training. Others are to be enrolled in training battalions or employed in trench digging. Budapest has been declared a war area. BELAKUN READY TO FLY. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received May 11, 5.5 p.m.). VIENNA, May 5. Belukun's noto of surrender has provoked such a strong feeling against him even in workmen's circles that he was nearly lynched at a meeting of the Workmen's and Soldiers' Council. Most of tho people's commissaries have fled from Budapest, fearing the mob would commit outrages. An airship is ready to carry off Belakun and his associates when peril necessitates flight.
