The Kennedy sails to-day for Pioton.. It is expected that the Manaroa will get away lor Lyttelton to-day, and is due back on Friday. It is expected that the Whakatano will sail for Lyttelton about Friday. The Government steamer Tutanekal left port on Saturday for the Islands. She is in charge of Captain Post. The Union Company's tramp steamer Waimarino, which was originally' named The Wyandotte, has been in the transpacific sorvice as a naval transport for the Imperial Government since 1917. Her dazzle-painting is still plainly visible. She is undor the command of Captain J. Thompson, who has with him tho following officers: —Qhief officer, Mr .H. E. Drinfcwater; second, Mr N. ATUA FROM SYDNEX. Shortly before 8 o'clock yesterday morning the Union Co.'s steamer Atua arrived in the stream from Sydney direct. She was declared a clean ship by the tort health authorities,' and will probably berth this morning. HUIA WITH EXPLOSIVES. The auxiliary schooner Huia left Auckland on Thursday with a cargo of oxplosives for Wellington. On completion of discharge here she will proceed to Lyttelton and Dunedin. PORT SYDNEY. The Port Sydney is due about the end of next week from Timaru. PAKEHA LEFT COLONWord' has been received by the 'ocal office of the Shaw, Savill and Albion Co. that the Pakeha, en route from London to New Zealand, left Colon on May 7th. She is due at Wellington about May 30th. ' CITY OF DUNKIRK. Cabled advioe has been received by the local office of the N.Z. and A. Line that the City of Dunkirk left New York on May Ist for New Zealand ports. Sho is expected to arrive at Auckland about June 10th, and will subsequently come .on? to, Wellington. ... REMUERA ARRIVES. "! An arrival in port yesterday was the Remuera from London, via Auckland. After discharging part cargo hero the Remuera will proceed about Wednesday tor Lyttelton and Port Chalmers. NORTHUMBERLAND FROM LIVERPOOL. Tho Northumberland, which arrived in the stream from, Liverpool with itroops on. ..Friday, berthed early on Saturday morning. The vessel had a splendid "run •froni tho Home port,' "heavy"'wetifcner"'being experienced onlv when five days out from New Zealand. It is hoped to diaDatch the Nothumberland for Melbourne abouifc Friday. WILLOCHRA TO LOAD. Earlv last evening the Willochra, which has been undergoing overhaul at Port Chalmers, arrived in port and anchored in the stream. According to advee received by the Australian .Shipping Board, a new White Star liner, the Vedic, has been launched ana placed on. the loading berth lor Aus-' tralia. The Vedic. a steel twin screw j refrigerating vessel of 9060 tons gross anu 56u0 tons net. was constructed for the 1 Oceanic S.N. Company: (White Star Line> by Harland and Wolff, Ltd., Belfast. She lias three decks, and is 4Gof't long by 58ft in beam. Her engines, which were provided bv the builders of.the.voßr sol. consist of four steam turbines gearedon to two screw shafts. Tho communication with regard .to the vessel received by the Shipping Board indicates that she will leave England this . month with troop's' for Australia.
