' Wright street, Wellington, on Friday last, at the age of 74; The late Mr Thomson was born in l)ov?i----patriek, County Down, Ireland, and "when umte, a voung man left his birth-place in the ship Donald McKay for Australia*, where he engaged.in newspaper work.
