WELLINGTON PRESBYTERY
The Wellington Presbytery met on Tuesday evening. The Rev. G. B. Mackenzie presided.
Satisfactory reports in. regard to home missions were submitted, from Bona Bay, Wadestown, Seatoun, Upper Hutt, and Plinimerton. The Rev.: A. Bruce Todd wrote stating that as he had been appointed secretary to the Homo Mission Committee" of the * General Assembly, he tenders his resignation of the pastorate of St. David's, Petone, which he has held for the last four and a half years. ~
It was reported that congregational sanction had been obtained for an overdraft of £2OO. It was decided that in future the Presbytery should meet on the second Tuesday in the month.
,Mr Kichmond brought up an application from St. James's, Newtown, for the loan of £SOO, of which £3UO is for the balance and cost- of the organ and £2OO for putting the church into repair.—The Hon. J. G. W. Aitkeii moved that permission to borrow £6OO bo granted, oh condition that the congregation reduced the indebtedness by £2OO within the next two years. This was seconded by the Rev. J. Cumming and carried.
