LEAGUE FOOTBALL
TEAM TO TOUR AUSTRALIA. The executive of the Wellington Rugby League met the other evening, when correspondence was received from the New Zealand Council dealing with the projected tour in Australia of a New Zealand team. The team will leave Wellington in about three weeks' time. Wellington claims for representation in the team will be considered on Saturday next, when the selectors will meet in Wellington to select the team. In order to enable them to make a good selection it is probable that both games set down for Saturday' will be played on the one ground. Wellington will also send n. team to Auckland at an early date. After the completion of the Australian tour an Australian team will.visit New Zealand, and one game will bo played in Wellington against the local representatives. The following fixtures were drawn for Saturday next:— Petono v. Athletic, at Petone. Newtown v. Suburbs, at Wellington.
