Tbe contest for the ladies’ championship of the Johnsonvillc Golf Club was finished on Saturday, when Miss Bathiam (1 up) defeated Mrs Norman Burton after a very close and interesting game. Miss Bat-ham thus becomes the holder of the silver rose howl. Miss Bntham also won the Burke Cup for approaching and putting. During the afternoon, Meadames Wallis and Morgan, who hare dispensed tea throughout the season, were each presented with a china fruit dish as a slight token of gratitude, the presentation being made by Mr Trewcck on behalf of the members of tho club. The Johnsonvilie Golf Club held a successful Bod Cross ten, recently. A sale of flower’s and a guessing competition for a. box of home-made sweets presented by Mrs E. Summerville realised £7 12s. Most of the flowers were given by- Mcsctames Wallis and Morgan, and sold in town by Miss Yarrall. A modal match was played, tho winner being Miss Price.
