MILITARY SERVICE BOARD
OASES DEALT WITH YESTERDAYThe Third Wellington Military Service Board met yesterday, under He presidency of Mr W. H. S. Moorhoase, with Messrs A. O’L. Considino ani M. .1. Mack. Captain P, Baldwin appeared on behalf of the military authorities. The cases of W. A. E. Beelmn. stamp clerk, Invercargill; M. O. Auld, clerk in the Land and Leeds Office, Wellington; R. Smyth, clerk, Land and Deeds Office, Gisborne; Frank O’Connor, civil servant, Wellington; and B. C. Jordan, civil ser rant, K-arori, wore adjourned indefinitely. R. H. Hunt, a city corporation em ployee, received leave until January 7th. The case of Percy L. Kennedy, ironmoulder, Hataitai, was adjourned indefinitely. The, appeal of Private Thomas Currie, 33rd Reinforcements, for leave to do farm work, was referred to the Canterbury Board. Leave was granted to Vinoent Mitchell, clerk, till January, in.d to James Baker, motor-’bus proprietor, till November 20th. William H. Raine, grocer, Wellington, obtained leave till December 12th. As to Lieutenant E. B, Brown, Trentham, it was decided to recommend him for home service. Leave was granted to George 0. Cooper till November 14th. The case of Edward M. Kebbell, sbeepf armor, Pahautanui, was adjourned for a month. Alfred S. Flack, carpenter, got leave till January 12th. The appeal of William A. Flavell, warehouseman, was granted on the ground that he was a Second Division man. Leave was given to Alfred H. Chalker, electrical contractor, Northland, till January, and to Thomas Harris, farmer, Pahautanui, till December IStb. Tba board adjourned until to-day.
