Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, October 11. AH horses in the name of the late Hon. J. D. Ormond have been scratched for tho Canterbury Jockey Club s spring meeting. Tho following have been elected officers of the Foxton Racing; Club:— President, Mr J. R. Whyte; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs W. E. Barber, C. and O. Robinson, Fred Easton; treasurer, Mr F’red Easton; stewards, Messrs Burr, Bryant, Caley, Freeman, Hammond, Hunt, Alandll, and Thynne. Tho club has a credit balance of £193. It was decided to hold the annual race mooting on January 22nd. A meeting of members of tho Horowhenua Racing Club was held on Tuesday night, at Levin, Mr J- McLeavey presiding. It was decided to ascertain the status of financial members with regard to other clubs, and the right of admittance to other courses iu the Wellington district. It was pointed out that already several clubs had granted concessions to the members of the Horowhenua Club, but that many had failed to do so. It was decided to hold a non-totalisator meeting on the course on New Y'ear’s Day.
