“GRAFT” IN CANADA
A CONTUMACIOUS CONTRACTOR. LONDON, February 22. A message from Ottawa says that Parliament debated for two days the case of R. Miller, contractor, who refused to answer questions as to how he spent certain large sums to secure Government contracts. Ho was ordered to be imprisoned within the precincts of the House, and after two days, being still contumacious, he was ordered to the common gaol to bo kept there at Parliament’s pleasure.
