MUNICIPAL CHURCH PARADE

Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 23. The first municipal church parade here, held this morning in the Anglican Cathedral, was marred somewhat by rainy weather, but was attended by between fifty and sixty ot those connected with the municipality, as well as a fairly large number of the public. In addition to the Mayor and a number of city councillors, heads of departments and employees, the Mayors of Sumner, Biccarton and Spreydon were present. Bishop Julius preached an interesting sermon on the duties of citizenship, and extended a welcome to the Mayors and councillors.
