MAGISTRATE’S COURT

FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21. (Before Mr W. G. Riddell, S.M.). DRUNKENNESS. Thomas Reeves was fined 40s, in default seven days, for drunkenness, and was ordered to pay 14s, the amount of damage which ho did to a door panel, the property of Patrick Castin. William Banker was fined 20s for drunkenness. BY-LAW OASES. For riding a bicycle without a light Allan M. Smith was fined Ss, with 7s costs, and Alfred C. Fitchett was ordered to pay costs 7s for driving a vehicle without a light. On informations of allowing stock to be at large George Reginald Welsby was fined ss, with costs £1 Bs, and Lamington McWilliams os, witii 13s costs. MILITARY DEFAULTERS. The following lads were penalised in small sums for failing to attend drills: E. C. Charters, R. D. Forsyth, J. J. Sullivan, R. Bell, H. Smith, W. M. Looney, P. Knowsley, Walter Norman Connolly, Donald Allan Jones, Walter Morris, Arthur Sutcliffe Kierby, Henry Richard Ross, Albert Murphy, Ralph Mcßandie, Herbert Smith, Robert James Ballantyne, Ernest George Gandell, and Cyril H. Sayer. Frederick Henry Brattle was fined 20s, with 7s costs, for interrupting a parade, and John Alexander Leggatt 10s, with 7s costs, for a similar offence.
