LAWN TENNIS

Tho annual inter-provincial match between the Wellington and Canterbury associations is to be played on the Thorndon Clulb’s courts to-day. The Canterbury Association will be represented by Messrs Ullivier, Goss, Pearse. Greenwood, Sheppard, and Seay, Mrs Ballantyne, Misses Bloxam, Cotton and McDougall. The Wellington Association’s teams will be Messrs Swanston, Fisher, Peacock, Brown, White-Parsons, and Smythe, and Misses Travers, Nunneley, Van Staveren and Mrs Goldie. Should further rain prevent play on the Thorndon Club’s courts arrangements will be made to play the match on the Brougham Hill Club’s asphalt courts in Lloyd street, and notices to that effect will be put up at the offices of the daily papers.
