DISPUTED WILL CASE CONCLUDED. LONDON, February 20. The hearing was concluded in tee Probate Court of the case of Hayden Erskine Starke, an application for the revocation of the codicil of the will of Miss Maria Mattingley, of Kensington, bequeathing £7500 to Dr Frederick Bryan, an Australian, and Miss Mattingley’s grand nephew; also £7500 to Mrs Starke, a passenger by the illfated steamer Waratah. Miss Mattingley’s solicitor gave evidence that his client had made many wills. She left Bryan £9OOO in 1904. Then the . amount was variously altered until Bryan was cut out in 1908 with £2O. * Miaa Mattingley’s nurse stated that the testatrix was quite sane on the day she signed the codicil. A servant gave evidence that Miss Mattingley tried to bum the codicil, saying it left Bryan more than he deserved.. The jury found that the testatrix was sane, that the codicil had bem duly executed, and that the testatrix had not been influenced by Dr Bryan.
