From Our Own Correspondent. MASTERTON, February 21. Mrs W. Ellis, of Carterton, who has been on a trip to England, returned home on Wednesday. Miss J. Woodward, daughter of Mr and Mrs Woodward, of Kahautaxa, was married to Mr Alfred Jensen on Tuesday last. ... . Mr O. S. Gordon, relieving teacher at the Carterton District High School, has been appointed headmaster at the Bongomai school. , Mr Edgar Lys, brother of Mr F. Lys, of Makuri, died on Wednesday. Mrs Iveson will represent the Endeavour Lodge at the New Plymouth Conference. At the Pahiatua swimming sports on Wednesday last the chief events were won as follow: 66.yds handicap, P. Harris (Kaitawa); long dive, F. Early; breast-stroke 33yds, M. Stewart; Pahiatua Handicap, A. Eager; 100yds handicap, G. P. O’Rourke; trick div-, ing, A. H. Tocker; ribbon dive, J. Haining; neatest header, J. McDonald; relay race, McDonald, Sweeney, O’Rourke.
