In placing his report on the work of the Post Office .Department for the previous year Air Samuel, on. 20th last, that owing to the enormous growth of the service the conetrootion of a State tube railway was contemplated. It would run east and west from the General Post Office in King Edward street, and would be utilised for the conveyance of mails and parcels.
