ROYAL MARINES’ PROMOTION. LONDON, February 19. The privilege of promotion to commissioned rank haa been extended to men of the Royal Marines, as well as to those of the seamen’s branch of the service. AN AUSTRALIAN VIOLINIST. LONDON, February 19. Ivy Wagmore, a West Australian violinist, won an open scholarship for three years at the Royal College of Music. THE LATE LOUIS BECKE. SYDNEY, February 20. The funeral of Mr Becke took place at Waverley, and was largely attended.
