SLOT TELEPHONES
Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, February 20. The Hon. B. Heaton Rhodes received several deputations to-day, the members of which asked for the installation of slot telephones in different localities. Replying to a deputation from Woolston, the Minister said that there had been a great pressure of work throughout the country, and the department’s hands had been fully employed on telephonic construction. This pressure had eased off a little, and he would be able to put more hands on the work connected with slot telephones. He hoped in a month or two to instal a few more slot telephones in Christchurch. The Minister left for Wellington this evening.
