DOPING A TROTTER

ATTEMPT IS UNSUCCESSFUL. Press Association. BLENHEIM, February 19. A sensation was caused in Blenheim this morning by the discovery that Mr M. Bollard's trotter, Lucy Wallace, engaged at the Dashwood meeting to-day, had been tampered with, with tho object of doping her. The act was perpetrated during the night and some corrosive liquid used, but with only partial success. The horse’s month and nose were burned, but nevertheless she was taken to the course, and was successful in winning the principal event.
