Tho Sherenden settlement is situated for the most part on both sides of the i main Hastings-Patea road, an cveel,lent metalled road. The property con si sts generally of open rolling country, with a little manuka in gullies, interswmtcd by streams running in more or h as deep gorges, some of which are stoci i-proof and used as boundaries. Approx imately three-fourths of the proipert* r is ploughable. The fencing is 'gene* tally good post-and-wire, and 'natui ail stock-proof gorges. All the sectic ns, with the exception of two or ■three, are sufficiently fenced _to hold (stock immediately possession is given. ,A school site of five acres is reserved for th<> establishment of a school. It is distinctly stipulated that preference will be* given to landless applicants who ha vo children dependent on them or who have within the preceding two years b ten twice unsuccessful at former bal lots. There are altogether twenty-one sections to be offered, ranging in area from 373 acres to 696 acres.
