TROUBLE IN PHILIPPINES
FIFTY UNITED STATES TROOPS KILLED. (Received February 18, 9.16 p.m.) BRISBANE. February 18. Eastern news per the steamer Changsha reports trouble at Jolo, in the Philippines. The natives rebelled and killed fifty United States troops who were dispatched to the scene. Rigorous measures followed.
