A BOY’S COMPENSATION CLAIM. FALL FROM A STABLE LOFT. Press Association. TIMARU, February 18. Some months ago a stable boy, who was sleeping in the loft of a town livery stable, got up in the night, as he says, because he heard a horse making a noise. He fell over the rail round the landing at the top of the stair, and in consequence it is said that he will bo crippled for life.. Mr Justice Sim yesterday and today heard a suit for compensation against the employers, and reserved his decision. The defence_ urged that the accident did not arise in the course of the boy’s employment, and suggested that he was walking in his sleep.
