WELLINGTON ASSOCIATION. MEETING OF MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. The management committee of the Wellington CiucKet Association met last evening, Mr Martin Buckle presiding. 'The chairman said no reply nad deen received irom Canterbury regarding the edalleuge put in by the Wellington Association lor tho Blanket Snieid. lie hud been advised that the Hawke s Bay Association wanted to know if the Helliiiglon Association would be prepared to send a team to play at .Napier on March 15vh and 17th, instead of at Easter, as they intended to play Auckland at that time. The Wellington Association was proposing to send a team to Christchurch at Easter to play for the Plunket Shield, ami ho believeu it would be better to advise Hawke s hay to accept the match with Auckland at Easter. If a Wellington team went to Christchurch the team that would visit Hawke’s Bay would be a weak one. It was decided to refer the matter to Messrs Wilson, Crombie and Midlaue to see if they could arrange to get a team to go to Napier at their own expense to play Hawke’s Bay on March 15th and 17th. . The Central Club wrote asking the association if a reduction could be made in regard to the rent of the dressingroom ri the Basin Reserve. They understood ne council had reduced the rental, and wanted the association to make a proportionate reduction. It was decided to write to the council on the mutter.
