MOTOR GARAGE BURNT

Press Association. INVERCARGILL, February 18. At 3.30 this morning a lire broke out in a motor garage belonging to Mr TV. G. O’Connor, Otautau. The flames had secured firm hold when discovered and nothing was saved. O’Connor had for the past three years carried on a business as a motor and cycle agent. All the stock, which was covered by a policy of £175 and included a motor car, was destroyed. Adjacent to the building was a fourroomed cottage belonging to Mr R. Mclvor, and this was destroyed. The place was untenanted. The insurances on the buildings are not available, but O’Connor estimates his loss at between £SOO and £6OO.
