NEW PLYMOUTH NOTES
February 16. Mr and Mrs Keg. George left on Thursday for a. visit to Auckland. Dr Bennett (Blenheim) left for Auckland en route for England on Thursday. He will be away About six months. Mr and Mrs E. Pridham sail for England in the Moldavia in about ja month's time. Mrs D’Arcy Kobertson and her children are staying at tho Mountain Hostelry. Mr and Airs J. Patou left on Saturday for a month’s holiday visit to the South Island. Mrs Ivon Sfiandish and her sister. Miss Bessie Wordsworth (Devonport, Auckland) leave to-morrow for Palmerston, where Captain Standish is now stationed. Mr W. H. Triggs, of Christchurch, is on a visit to New Plymouth, and intends spendng several days at the Mountain Hostelry. Miss Chambers (Auckland) is the guest of Mrs T. Anderson. Mr and Mrs Spencer (Wellington), who have been spending a holiday in New Plymouth' and Mokau, returned last Friday to Wellington. Aliss Payne (Wellington) is staying in New Plymouth. Mrs E. Oarthew and her two children, who have been staying for a year in Sydney, returned last week to again take up their residence in New Plymouth.
Mr Carthew returned some time ago from Sydney. Air and Mrs Fedovorovitch (Germany) arrived last week to reside in New Plymouth. Mr Fedovorovitch is engaged in the petroleum industry. Miss Fay Bayiy (Toko) has gone to Alarton, to stay with her aunt, Mrs F. Mattier. The bridge club met at Airs Alec. AlcDiarmid’s on Friday evening, when Mrs Newton King and Airs Bluuuell won the prizes. The Kev. A. H. Colvile leaves to-mor-row for a short visit to Auckland, to assist in holding Lenten mission services there. Visitors to the races last week included Mrs and Miss Nolan (Hawera). Misses Coutts (Haw-era), Mrs Budge, Airs VV ill Webster, Airs Kobinson, Mrs Glasgow, Mrs Abraham, Mrs Paget, and Airs Aialono (all of Stratford), Mrs Bennett (Blenheim), ‘Mrs Q. Glenn (Hawera) and several visitors from Palmerston, Auckland and Wellington, it was noticeable that a very large number of the ladies present were visitors. Miss Agnes Wilson is visiting friends in Auckland and Te Kuiti.
