MOTOR FATALITY

Press Association. WHANGAKEI, February 15. A motor fatality occurred at Tangiteroria this morning. A party, consisting of J. Hoey, owner and driver of the taxi, J. Richardson, N. Weaver, Massey (Whangarei), and Knowles (representing Levin and Co., Wellington), left Tangiteroria at 8 o’clock. Mr Richardson, interviewed by telephone, states that they were travelling on a good road at a medium pace, when the back tyre blew out, causing the car to slow round and turn completely over sideways. When they got up, after being thrown clear, Hoey was found still sitting in the driver’s seat dead. The rest of the party were practically unhurt, but were badly shaken. Deceased leaves a widow and young family.
