MARCONI CONTRACT

JOURNALIST’S ARTICLES. REPORT IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS. LONDON, February 13. Sir Albert Spicer, Chairman of the Parliamentary Select Committee inquiring into the contract between the Marooni Wireless Company and the British Post Office, reported to the Speaker of the House of Commons the refusal of a witness, Mr L. J. Maxse, editor of the “National Review,” to name those on whoso information he had based articles affecting Ministers. The Speaker replied that the initiative rested with the House of Commons, not the Speaker. The Premier. Mr Asquith, announced that in view of the lateness of the session and the importance of the subject he was not prepared to advise immediate action.
