THE 1913 BISLEY
LARGE ENTRIES EXPECTED. The annua] prize meeting of the Dominion Rifle Association, which is to be held at Trentham, commencing on February 27th, promises to be Tery satisfactory from the standpoint of entries. It is anticipated that between 400 and 500 men will compete. Most of these will, of coursehe rifle club men, and the meeting will therefore partake of the character of a rifle club rather than of a Territorial gathering. The younger Territorials have not yet become conversant with all the intricacies of markmanship, consequently entries from this source were not expected to be large. However, some of the “old hands” of the military forces will be competing. In fact, practically all the well-known shots will bo at Trentham again. Private L. Loveday, who ’ast year won the King’s Prize and Championship Belt, will be taking part. As yet it is difficult to estimate the actual total entries as a number have to come to hand from the country districts. Ex-champion G. Halliday will most likely not be present, as he has done no shooting this season. A first-class programme has .been provided, and it is a decided improvement on that of last year. The administration will, as in former years, be a the very capable hands of Colonel R. J. Collins, chief executive officer of she Dominion Riffe Association.
