WINGATUI TRACK WORK

Press Association. DUNEDIN, February 13. , Very little fast work has taken place at Wingatui yet. owing to the hardness of the track, except on the plough, gallop, and heavy rain to-day was much welcomed by trainers. 'The proceedings this morning commenced with Silver Dirk being schooled over the hurdles. Daringdale cantered on the grass and Sister Radius received slow pacing on the plough. The filly has been showing signs of shin soreness. Triumphator and Parable broke away at the mile and a quarter post and picked up Lupulite shortly after entering the back stretch. ■ The last-named, however, did not assist the pace. Parable ran the last mile in Imin 49aeo, the first half taking S4sec. Taft and Golden Clasp did a round over the schooling hurdles. The mare gave a much improved display at the fences.

Gapon and Simon Pure cantered, and came over the last four furlongs on tho outside of the course proper in 57seo. Both are looking well. Sartorze occupied Imin 14sec in getting over five furlongs on the outside of the course proper. ' Sea Maid, Pepin and Hakuri traversed four furlongs together in 54 3-ssec. Czar Kolohol strode over half a mile in 53seo on the plough.
