ATTEMPT TO ENTER HIS PALACfi FRUSTRATED. ADDIS ABEBA, Febnmry 12. The refusal of an old chief guarding King .Menelik to relinquish his command led to a pitched battle, lasting two hours. The defenders used cannon and machine guns, and prevented the assailants from entering the palace. DISPUTE PEACEFULLY SETTLED. (Received February 13, 11.65 p.m.) ADDIS ABEBA, February 13. The dispute has been peacefully settled.
