From Our Own Correspondent. MASTERTON, February 13. An inuuirv into the territorial strike at Masterton two or three months ago will be held next week. The Masterton Butchers’ Union last ■ night presented Mr Alt, itippon, a prominent member, who is to be married shortly, with a silver-mounted salad oowl, suitably inscribed. There are 4113 gas-cookers in use in Masterton. Eighty-eight new gas con6umers Uavo been obtained by tho borougii gas department during the year. liio number of subscribers to the Masterton public library is now 299. The boons in the library total 4055. Tiio entries in the cattle classes at the Masterton show now total 264, as compared with 247 last year. The number of entries for the show will tall short of last year's total. Mr E. Holmwood, of JMasterton, has sold his property at Happy Valley, and contemplates making a trip to England shortly.
