INDUSTRIAL ASSOCIATION
A meeting of the Wellington Provincial Industrial Association was held last evening, Mr L. R. Partridge presiding. There were also present Messrs D. Robertson, R. J. Hardie Shaw, C. Palliser, F. C. Crease, H. Read, F. J. Evans, IV. McLay, E. Bull, M. Manthel, and C. B. Norwood. Tho chairman, on behalf of the association, expressed pleasure at Mr Shaw being restored to health. The following new members were elected: Messrs W. F. Newson, IV. Allan, IV. Strange and Co., Ltd. (Mr IV. Taylor, representative). Mr D. Robertson was re-elected the association’s representative on the Technical Education Board. A letter was received from the Mayor asking the association to appoint delegates to the committee ol representatives of tho Trades’ Council and Chamber of Commerce, which is being set up to receive visitors during Carnival Week.—The chairman thought the association should whole-heartedly co-operate in the movement to extend knowledge of the city on the part of outsiders. Wellington had many fine buildings, and the association might well take part in showing them to visitors. —Messrs C. Palliser, D. Robertson. T. Ballinger, J. P. Luke, and IV. Cable were deputed to represent the association on the committee. The Ocean Accident Company wrote withdrawing the resignation of its membership from tho association. The hank balance was reported as being £l6 2s 3d and the amount on fixed deposit £1042 14s Bd. Accounts amounting to £47 7s were passed for payment.
