"CONSISTENCY”

To. the Editor " N.Z. Times.” Sir, —“ Consistency is the refuge of fools.” This remarkable utterance lather reminds mo of the mental status of the electors of a certain city constituency who consistently return _ a member who has changed his politics with equal consistency. Said member never inquires of said electors “By your leave ” ; but that is a circumstance hardly worth noting. If one could take the aforesaid electors seriously and ask them (who are mainly workers) what they aro going to gam from their member’s friends, the squatters, I should like to hear a satisfactory reply. They had better hurry, howover, as ho has threatened he may alter his views again.—I am, etc., ICONOCLAST.
