CANTERBURY VERSUS WELLINGTON. TO-DAY'S CONTEST. The Canterbury, Nelson, and Wellington representatives at the Now Zealand Championships at Wanganui returned by hist night’s train, aiid to-day at Te Are Baths a competition will take place between Canterbury and. WcOirnigten representatives tor possession of tho Noruon Cup. The cup has been presented by Mr E. Nordphi of Christchurch, for annual compt-tition between the two provinces, the conditions' being A water polo match, a 700 yards teams' race, and a diving competition. The diving to be between four men from each centre, who must be in both the preoedins team®. The polo ©vents will commence at 12.15 p.m. sharp, and the remaining events at 5.15. As this is the first competition of its kind ever held in New Zealand much enthusiasm has been aroused locally, moreover, no extra charge is being made for admission. The teams are Wellington: R. Hoaly, F. Roberts, E. Levy, H. Little, H. Jemkiuison, R. Nelson, and H. Capper. Canterbury, L. Annand. L. Poison, C. Atkinson, G. Gemmell, J. Stirling, H. Rich, G. L. Hull.
