MINING DISPUTES
THE NEWCASTLE CONFERENCE. A HITCH IN NEGOTIATIONS. (Received February 10, 9.25 p.m.) SYDNEY, February 10. On the re-assembling of the conference between the Newcastle coal owners and the Miners’ Federation to discuss whether a joint committee or some similar tribunal, should be formed to deal with mining disputes, the owners announced that they were not prepared to proceed with business till they Knew' what the Government intended doing. Tho conference was consequently adjourned till Wednesday.
