Lord Armstrong’s son, in defending syndicalism, said: “AVe have gradually arrived at a state of society wherein there is no monarchy and no peerage, only Government by the fattest. How can a man lead a clean life on 18s 6d weekly and support a family 'i AVhat excuse is there for coal companies paying forty per centum dividend, or the Elswick yards paying dividends running into double figures ?’ ’ Tho Hon. AV. J. Montagu Armstrong, Lord Armstrong’s son, in an article published in a Newcastle paper, avows himself a syndicalist if the political weapon fails.
