“GRAFT” UNDER POLICE PROTECTION. A REGULAR SYSTEM OF TOLLS LEVIED. NEW YORE, February 9. Wholesale jonfessions of “graft” under police protection of gaming houses were made by keepers of such resorts when the investigation was being held _ into police methods. One witness _ admitted that he had paid the police for seventeen years and that a regular tyftem of tolls was levied. Several police inspectors are involved.
