From Our Own Correspondent, February 8. Mr Greig. the managing director of Whitannui, Ltd,, who is shortly paying a visit to .England, was presented -with a smoker’s companion and travelling rug from the employees. Mrs Ferry is at present on a visit to Palmerston. Mr E. W. Sutton has been appointed manager of Temukanul, Ltd., at Tokomaru. The late Constable Doyle's funeral will take place to-morrow at Southbridge, Canterbury, the home of his parents. The body passed through here by the early train yesterday morning. Sirs E. L. Kichards leaves here on Monday for Eotorua. Mrs W. H. Gunning also leaves for Greymouth on Monday.
