STAR BOATING CLUB
ANNUAL SWIMMING SPORTS. The annual swimming sports of tbs Star Boating Club were held on Saturday afternoon, the events taking plac« outside the boatshed in Jervois quay. There was an attendance of about four hundred spectators, and they all enjoyed the sport provided. Arrangements were supervised by the following officials: Umpire, Mr A. D. Bayfield; starter, Mr N. Galbraith; check starter, Mr D. It. Menzies; judges, Messrs Bayfield, Pearce, and Barnett; call stewards, Messrs Widdop, Lawrence, and Lambert: result board, Mr F. H. Galvin. Mr W. O’Meara acted as secretary. Results are as follow : 50yds Maiden Race—First heat—T. Martin, 1; H. Lawson, 2. Second heat —G. Heale, 1; K. R. Watson, 2. Final—Martin, 1; Heale, 2: Watson, 3. 100yds Club Championship.—R. A. Newton, 1; C. Can-, 2: Dingfo. 3. 50yds Handicap.—First heat—G. Heale, lOsec, 1; R. Gibbons, lOsec, 2. Also started—F.
