A GIFT OF £IO,OOO. ADELAIDE, February 7. Mr R. Barr Smith has presented £IO,OOO to the university to build a common hall for professors and students, which will be the nucleus of a residential college. Mr Smith is a well-known merchant, a member of the nrm of Elder, Smith and Co., Ltd. lie has for many years been identified with many public, patriotic and philanthropic movements, to which he has given most liberally, his munificence including notable gifts to the State, university, church and many institutions. t -
