MR. FISHER ON THE COAST
Press Association. WESTPORT, February 7. The Hon. F. M. B. Fisher arrived from Reofton on Wednesday at noon, and received a deputation. He delivered a political address on Wednesday night. The meeting was similar to a candidate’s during a contested election, there being a good deal of good-hu-moured interjections and numerous retorts by tho Minister. Mr Colvin, M.P., and the Minister had several arguments. A vote Minister had several arguments. A vote of thanks was carried without dissent, with an invitation to Mr Massey to speak in Westport. Mr Fisher loft for Karamea yesterday morning, and returns to-night. Mr Fisher visited Karamea, travelling overland, yesterday morning, and returned to-night. While in Karamea he received a number of deputations, inspected tho harbour, and delivered a public address, receiving a hearty voto of thanks and an expression of confidence in tho Government. On his return to Seddonville tonight the Minister delivered another public address, and at the conclusion, on the motion of Mr J. Cummings, president of the Seddonville Miners’ Union, who had been very persistent in asking questions, was accorded a hearty voto of thanks. The Minister leaves by the overland route to-morrow for Picton.
