The works of the Gear Meat Preserving and Freezing Company of New Zealand, Ltd., at Petoae, will reopen at an early date. Applications by experts or learners for “hooks” are now being received. Ernest Leighton held an auction sale of building sections at Lower Hutt, on Wednesday evening. Section 1, block 55. Bloomfield estate, was sold to Mr C. J. Shepherd, and sections 3 and 4, block 3, were sold to Mrs E. Joel, the prices ranging from £2lO to £225. Four sections did not reach the reserve, and are now in the auctioneers’ hands for private sale.
