VICAR’S FLIGHT
ASSISTED PASSAGES TO AESTHALIA. LONDON, February 6. The "Evening News” states that Knight and Grimes are on board the steamer Port Lincoln, and that they obtained assisted passages from the Victorian Government. Knight has in his possession £375. Mina Suffield, Grimes’s girl friend, alleges that she was aware of the scheme for Knight’s disappearance. Knight declared that hia married life was miserable. Grimes wrote to Miss Suffield stating that she and Knight were going to Australia. KNIGHT’S LIFE INSURED FOR £SOO. (Received February 6, 11,6 p.m.) LONDON, February 6. Knight’s life was insured for £6OO. Sir J. Taverner states that Knight S 3 ft £3OO to be forwarded, and payable y the Treasury at Melbourne. Miss Suffell, n friend of Grimes, tates that Knight told her ho proposed O sham death some time ago.
