NEW PLYMOUTH NOTES
February 5. Mrs Newton King returned from Wellington to-day, accompanied by her daughter, Mrs Sidney Allen (Dunedin). Mrs Ivon Standieh returned to-day from a short visit to Palmerston. Miss Dorothy Trimble (Dunedin) is the guest of her aunt, Mrs Penn. Miss G. Shaw has returned from a visit to Blenheim. Mrs Prod Bayly (Toko) and her eon sail this week from Wellington on a visit to England and Scotland. Mrs Blundell and her two sons return this week from a visit to Timaru. Mr and Mrs Fenton have returned from their honeymoon, and are staying with Mrs Fitzherbert. Mrs Cornwall and Mrs Sladden have been spending a week at the Mountain Hostelry. ■Mrs and Miss Kerr-Hislep (Inglewood) left for Wellington by motor on Monday, en route for their new home in Canterbury. Mrs Watkins and family have returned from a holiday spent in ,Akarea. Mr A. Goldwater (president of the Taranaki Bowling Association) and Miss Goldwater gave an enjoyable "at home” on the bowling green last Thursday afternoon. Mrs Wood’s orchestra rendered selections from the balcony of the pavilion, and a very dainty afternoon tea was dispensed to the bowlers and tho many ladies present. Mrs P. Webster gave an enjoyable bridge party on Tuesday evening, tho prizes being won by Mrs Percy Webster and Mrs 8. Cottier. Amongst those present were: —Mrs Medley, Mrs Avery, Mrs Newman, Mrs Haworth. Miss Hem’pton, Miss Godfrey, Miss Wood, Miss k’ Hamerton, Mrs Simpson, Mrs W. Bayly Mrs C. Curtis, Mrs A. McDiarmid, Miss Curtis, and Miss Stephenson-Smith.
